A Program Designed to Accelerate Digital Transformation in Vaud Tourism
The “Digital Transition in Vaud Tourism” call for projects (https://www.resto.ehl.edu/appel-a-projet) is an initiative led by EHL Hospitality Business School, Vaud Promotion, and the Service for Economic Promotion and Innovation (SPEI) to support tourism stakeholders in the Canton of Vaud in their digital transformation.
This program offers selected candidates the opportunity to benefit from:
- Personalized support for their project
- Coaching sessions with digital and tourism experts
- Financial assistance to turn ideas into reality
Our goal is clear: help businesses enhance the visitor experience, optimize internal processes, and strengthen their digital presence. Since its launch, the program has enabled many tourism actors to take a decisive step forward. Among them: Château de Vullierens, an iconic site in Vaud.
Why Château de Vullierens Joined the Program
Amid the gardens and sculptures of Château de Vullierens, a clear ambition emerged: to better understand visitors and offer them a personalized experience.
“The program was recommended to us by the Tourism Delegate of ARCAM,” explains the Château team. This recommendation marked the beginning of an adventure that transformed an idea into a concrete project.
From Concept to Implementation: Structured Support
The project already existed in broad terms, but the program provided structure and resources. Key steps included:
- Clarifying objectives during an initial session
- Tailored coaching and strategic meetings to refine the vision
- Networking opportunities and access to thematic conferences for inspiration and exchange
Months of support allowed the Château to move from concept to execution, with a clear methodology and adapted resources.
Tangible Results for an Exceptional Site
Today, Château de Vullierens perfectly illustrates the added value of digital tools for tourism.
“We continued the project by implementing targeted actions, including the creation of a dedicated webpage offering personalized visits based on visitor profiles.” The team also leveraged the collected data to guide marketing and business decisions. These concrete actions strengthen the site’s appeal and improve the visitor experience while optimizing its digital strategy.
Advice for Future Applicants
“We strongly recommend this program to any tourism stakeholder in French-speaking Switzerland looking to grow through digital innovation. Projects aimed at improving the visitor experience, streamlining internal processes, or boosting online visibility fit perfectly within this framework,” emphasizes the Château team.
